What is the difference between an Update and an Upgrade?

We consider Updates as new program versions that do not contain fundamental changes of the basic program. Thus, updates serve first of all as means of product enhancement and integration of options. You can recognize updates by the first digit of the version number, which does not change in this case.
Example: the current update of Version 1.0.33 to Version 1.3.0

Registered customers can obtain free-of-charge updates. Of course, on-site installations of updates are to be charged.

Upgrades are program versions with fundamentally functional and technical developments of the basic program.
The next upgrade version of IQ EasyMeasure® would be Version 2.0.0.
Registered customers can obtain upgrades at an attractive upgrade price.

In case of having an older version, can I carry out an update from the current product CD?

Yes. The installation procedure on the current Product CD 1.3.0 does also consider updates from Version 1.0.15 on. According to the registrations, there aren't any older versions in the market.

In case of updating an older version, the partially extended ini-files will be newly created. Additional finishing work at the ini-files and settings will be necessary only in exceptional cases. But this should be as "easy" as usual for experts.
