New Requirements for FireWire-Ports of Notebooks

We had to change the installation requirements for the usage of FW1 or the new FireWire cameras CC6 or CC7 with notebooks. The usage of the 4-pin FireWire(1394a) ports, which are part of most notebooks, turned out to be mechanically and electrically incapable for a reliable and professional solution during the latest practical tests. If the notebook does not possess a 6-pin-1394a port with sufficient power supply (12V/500mA), the Kit NBA1394 is compulsory, effective immediately.

 

The NBA1394 - Kit contains:
OHCI-compatible Cardbus adapter for notebooks
IEEE-1394-cable 6-6 for the connection to FW1 or CC6/CC7
Mainy-PSU adapter for the power supply of FW1 or CC6/CC7.
The power supply unit is connected directly to the Cardbus adapter.
